About Us

Started in the fall quarter of 2013, the Student Theater Acting Guild is a club that promotes the growing passion of theater and arts in the University of Washington Tacoma. Due to the lack of a core arts program at UWT, this club is comprised of dedicated students, staff, and local talent with the common goal to represent the theater community in the heart of Tacoma.  STAG hopes to provide acting, directing, and production opportunities for UWT students, faculty, and staff.  By producing staged readings and limited-budget full stage productions, the organization hopes not only to provide educational opportunities for the actors and organizers, but also bring high quality original stage productions to the campus for low or no charge. We expect to work closely with the Tacoma community at large, and create a vibrant artistic outlet to the campus and the city.

Mission:

STAG’s mission is to offer theatrical works and performing arts opportunities that better represent the diversity of students and our city. Our club and company aims to be inclusive in an educational setting by collaborating with UW Tacoma students, faculty, staff, Tacoma community members, and local theater professionals by committing to staging theater productions specifically created to reach broader audience interests.
